*Caitlin Lever, a senior at Georgia Tech, is batting .494 through the Yellowjackets' first 52 games. Lever has 78 hits in 158 at-bats through April 14. She was sixth in the nation with a .497 average as of the most recent NCAA listing April 8. Lever recently was named a finalist for the USA Collegiate Softball Player of the Year given annually by the American Softball Association. A graduate of Williamsville South, she is the daughter of former Buffalo Sabre Don Lever.
*Buffalo State sophomore softball player Jolene Banach (Maryvale) went 10 for 19 (.526) with four doubles, a home run, eight RBIs and eight runs scored, as the Bengals went 5-1 last week. Buffalo State is 16-4 overall and 6-2 in the State University of New York Athletic Conference.
*Amy Cucinotta (Amherst) placed first in the floor exercise for Kent State at the Mid-American Conference Women's Gymnastics Championships. Cucinotta was a first-team All-MAC selection. Kent State placed second of seven teams.
