Sherman woman charged with DWI after crash
MINA -- Chautauqua County sheriff's deputies said alcohol was involved in a Sunday crash that left a Sherman woman with minor injuries.
Jenni Irwin, 26, was westbound on Route 430 early Sunday morning when her vehicle crossed the center line, continued past the eastbound lane and ended up in a ditch, deputies said.
Findley Lake Fire Department volunteers treated Irwin at the scene. She was charged with driving while intoxicated, failure to keep right and not wearing a seat belt.
Not-guilty plea entered to arson and burglary
LITTLE VALLEY -- One of two Salamanca men indicted by a Cattaraugus County grand jury on charges of arson and burglary pleaded not guilty Monday in County Court.
David Knoxsah, 18, of South Main Street, entered the not-guilty plea. Co-defendant Jorge Torres, 19, of Fawn Avenue, will be arraigned next Monday.
The two were jointly indicted on charges of third-degree arson of a brick house at 17 Fawn Ave., two counts of third-degree burglary at the house and at Indian Smokes on Broad Street, fourth-degree criminal mischief and petit larceny, all on Sept. 30 in Salamanca.
Also in the grand jury report to County Judge Michael L. Nenno was the indictment of Neal Hicks Jr., 37, of Buffalo, on charges of fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, cocaine, Oct. 28 in Olean. He is to be arraigned next Monday.
