Heart Center liaison to help patients, doctors

NIAGARA FALLS -- The Heart Center of Niagara has a new liaison for patients and referring physicians.

Linda Curtis has joined the Heart Center at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center as coordinator for care. She will work directly with cardiac patients and their referring doctors to streamline care for heart center services, staff members and physicians.

Curtis also will work with Memorial's centralized scheduling staff to help with cardiac-related diagnostic procedures that include stress testing, computerized tomography (CT scan) angiography, Holter monitoring, electrocardiograms and echocardiograms. Cardiac positron emission tomography (PET) scans will continue to be booked through Dr. Michael Merhige's office.

Curtis can be reached by calling the Heart Center at 278-4300 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays.

GOP seeks candidates for Town Board seats

NEWFANE -- The Town Republican Committee is seeking candidates for Town Board.

Those interested are asked to contact town GOP Chairman Marcus Hall in writing at 7228 Ridge Road, Lockport, NY 14094, or by phone at 553-2711.

Hall also announced endorsements for this fall's elections in other races:

John Syracuse for Niagara County Legislature, 18th District; Tim Horanburg for supervisor; Phillip Erck for highway superintendent; Mildred Kramp for town clerk; and Bruce Barnes for town justice.
