The PAL Charity Golf Clinic will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. May 8 at the Wehrle Golf Dome. The cost is $15 per person with proceeds to benefit the PAL youth golf programs.

The event includes unlimited balls for indoor and outdoor ranges, free instruction and tips from area professionals along with miniature golf. Pizza, wings, beer and soda will be provided. For tickets or more information, call 851-4615.


BOXING: The Olympia Boxing Club will host a card at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Leonard Post, 2450 Walden Ave., Cheektowaga. Featured boxers include 2007 Golden Gloves champs Marshawn Jones and Wilfredo Justiniano along with John Makeyenko, Akeime Coston, Cody Czatla, Kevin Durmaj, Tim Wesolek and Solomene Renfro. The event also will feature the University at Buffalo's 2006 Golden Gloves female state champions Wendy Casey and Carrie Acosta. Reserved ringside seats are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. HOCKEY: The Town of Hamburg is taking registration for its youth pickup roller hockey program. There are two age divisions, 7-9 and 10-12, for boys and girls. The six-week program runs Saturday mornings beginning May 12 at the Hamburg Town Arena. To register, call 646-5145. . . . The Niagara County Coyotes girls program will hold tryouts Wednesday at Niagara University. Tryouts for 12- and 14-and-under Tier II teams will be from 7:30 to 8:50 p.m. while tryouts for 16- and 19-and-under Tier II and Senior "B" teams will run from 9 to 10:20 p.m. Tryouts continue April 26. RUNNING: The Checkers Running Club will hold a marathon training run at the Niawanda Park path at 8 a.m. Sunday in preparation for the Nissan Buffalo Marathon in May. Runners should meet at the Band Shell next to Tonawanda City Hall on Niagara Street. Water stops will be provided. Runs will be up to 15 miles.

SOCCER: The Hamburg Monarch Soccer Club will host a spaghetti dinner from 2 to 6 p.m. April 28 at the Big Tree Fire Hall, 4037 South Park Ave. The dinner, prepared by the Olive Garden, is $6.50 per person presale or $7.50 at the door. Children 5-10 are $4 presale or $4.50 at the door while children under 4 are free. Presale tickets will be available from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Blasdell Elementary School and from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Hamburg High School. For more information, call Sue at 827-0326.

SOFTBALL: The annual alumni reunion of the Western New York Softball Hall of Fame will take place from 6 to 10 p.m. April 28 at the Woodlawn Fire Hall, 3281 Lake Shore Road. Tickets are $10 and include snacks, beer and pop. For more information, call 361-4503.
