With reassessment notices going out this week, the Cheektowaga assessor's office is preparing to field questions from property owners whose valuations have changed.
The notices will include instructions for requesting an informal hearing to appeal new assessments, Assessor Brian Hess said.
From Wednesday through April 25, property owners can call 625-1106 between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. weekdays to ask questions about their assessments or schedule a hearing.
Also starting Wednesday, sales and assessment information as well as review applications will be available in Julia Boyer Reinstein Library, 1030 Losson Road, and Anna M. Reinstein Library, 2580 Harlem Road, as well as on the town Web site at www.tocny.org.
Assessor's office staff will be available in Reinstein Library from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, noon to 4 p.m. Friday, 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 24.
Hess also will conduct workshops on "Understanding Your New Property Assessments" at 6 p.m. Thursday, 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday and 6 p.m. next Monday. Call 686-3561 for reservations and locations.
