>Niagara deputy alerts woman resident to fire
LOCKPORT -- A Niagara County sheriff's deputy may have helped save a woman's life early Tuesday after he found her apartment door on fire.
Deputy Ray Tracy said he responded to the alarm at 2:15 a.m. at 6493 Dysinger Road and saw that the door to the woman's apartment and the carpet in front of it were on fire. He said he was able to wake the 26-year-old resident and had her pour water on the fire to extinguish it.
Members of the Rapids Fire Company later responded to the scene.
