Woman says boyfriend stole cash, debit card

NIAGARA FALLS -- A Rainbow Boulevard woman told police that her boyfriend apparently stole her debit card and cash while she slept Friday.

The woman said that she woke up to find the card and $12 missing from her wallet, and the boyfriend gone from her home. The theft occurred between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., police said.


Woman held in beating of elderly Falls resident

NIAGARA FALLS -- Police said a woman who entered the apartment of a 77-year-old woman and refused to leave about 9 a.m. Saturday ended up assaulting her with a frozen dinner.

The victim, who also was kicked repeatedly in the head, was not seriously injured, police said. She told police she did not know her attacker, police said.

Police arriving at the apartment shortly after 9 a.m. said they discovered Michelle C. Santoro, 26, standing over the victim, still kicking her. She was pulled off and placed into handcuffs, police said.

Police said the victim was attacked after she asked Santoro to leave. Santoro got a frozen dinner from a freezer and threw it at the woman, striking her in the shoulder, police said.

Santoro also fought with Officer David Bower, police said. She was charged with felony counts of burglary and assault, and petit larceny.

Falls woman says items were stolen from car

NIAGARA FALLS -- A woman said a wallet and cameras were stolen from her car following a get-together with friends in her 22nd Street home Friday night, police said. The loss was estimated at $200.


Man says woman stole his money, credit card

NIAGARA FALLS -- After being rejected in an attempt to borrow money, a woman apparently stole what she needed from a 20th Street man, police said.

The resident said the woman requested money just after 11 p.m. Friday and he discovered later that $36 in cash and a credit card were apparently stolen from his wallet.


No new information on pedestrian accident

Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority officials said Saturday they had no new information into the bus-pedestrian accident Friday that left a Buffalo woman dead.

Authority spokesman C. Douglas Hartmayer said he was unaware of any developments in the investigation into the death of Suellen Sicchia, 50, of Niagara Street.

Sicchia was walking north on Main Street near the Main Place Mall at about 1 p.m. Friday, when she was struck by a Metro Bus that was westbound on Church Street. She was pronounced dead at the scene.


Death follows dispute after night of partying

JAMESTOWN -- A fistfight early Saturday that followed a night on the town left a Jamestown man dead and another charged with second-degree manslaughter, Jamestown police said.

The victim was identified as Ruffin VanHook Jr., 36. Todd A. Wynn, 29, is being held in Chautauqua County Jail following his arraignment in Jamestown City Court.

The fight occurred near 120 Price St. shortly after 6 a.m., Officer Bob Service said. When it was over, Wynn asked a nearby resident to call 911. VanHook was unresponsive when the ambulance crew arrived and later died at WCA Hospital, police said. Results of an autopsy are expected Monday.
