Richard A. Morgan of Orchard Park, former vice president and general manager of the Canada Dry Bottling Co. in Buffalo, died Tuesday in the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, Cheektowaga. He was 71.
Born in Cleveland, he came to Buffalo with his family as a child and was a graduate of Kensington High School and Bryant & Stratton. He served in the Army during the Korean War.
He began working at his family's business, Morgan Motor Parts, then was a sales representative for Nabisco with an extensive route in the Southern Tier. After joining Canada Dry in sales, he was vice president and general manager of the Buffalo bottling plant from 1970 to 1979.
From 1982 until he moved to Orchard Park in 1993, Mr. Morgan was an independent real estate sales agent in Houston. He continued to work in home sales here until 1997.
He was an avid reader, boater and traveler.
Surviving are his wife of 45 years, the former Roselyn Carriaro; two sons, James and David; a daughter, Lynn; and three sisters, Judy, Patricia and Jo Ann Anderson.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Orchard Park Presbyterian Church, 4369 S. Buffalo St.
