A memorial service for the Rev. William Keith Schneidau Jr. of Baltimore, former rector of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Lewiston, will be at 10 a.m. April 28 in St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 3197 Main St.
Father Schneidau died Monday in Pickersguil Retirement Home, Baltimore. He was 81.
Father Schneidau was raised in Lewiston and Buffalo and served in the Navy from 1945 to 1947.
He earned a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Cornell University in 1956 and was ordained an Episcopal priest in 1968. He served at St. Mary Magdeline Church in Villa Park, Ill., until 1981.
Father Schneidau was rector in the Lewiston church from 1981 until his retirement in 1991. He lived in Buffalo until two years ago, when he moved to Maryland to be near his daughter and her family.
His wife, Barbara Riehle Schneidau, died two years ago.
Survivors include a daughter, Elizabeth A. Cannon; a son, Stephen K.; and a brother, Peter B.
