One hurt, two ticketed in two-vehicle crash

JAMESTOWN -- A two-vehicle crash Wednesday morning sent one person to the hospital.

According to Jamestown police, Robert Grosser, 65, of Randolph, was driving west on East Second Street when he attempted to make a left turn onto Stafford Street. Officers said Grosser turned into the path of James Burdic, 41, of Jamestown, and the two vehicles collided.

Bonnie Wiltsie, a passenger in the Burdic vehicle, suffered minor injuries. She was transported to WCA Hospital, treated and released.

Grosser was ticketed for failing to yield the right of way, and Burdic was ticketed for driving with an expired inspection.

Woman, 21, injured as car goes out of control

POLAND -- A Frewsburg woman was hurt following an accident early Thursday morning in Poland.

Heather Lindsay, 21, was traveling north on Route 62 a little after 8 a.m. when she lost control of her vehicle, said Chautauqua County sheriff's deputies.

Lindsay spun out, and struck the guardrail on both sides of the road. She complained of chest pains and was transported to WCA Hospital, Jamestown, by the Kennedy Fire Department. No charges have been filed.

Man jailed on charge of setting car on fire

LAKEWOOD -- A Lakewood man was jailed for allegedly setting fire to a car parked next to a Fairmount Avenue restaurant last month.

Eric Davidson, 32, was charged with third-degree arson after Lakewood-Busti police said he allegedly set the 1993 model sedan on fire at about 3 a.m. March 16. The car, which was parked next to Erickson's Restaurant, was fully involved in flames when Lakewood firefighters arrived.

An investigation led to Davidson's arrest. No motive was given.

Davidson was arraigned in Busti Town Court and sent to the Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail.
