Busti police now say a Westfield man fell through the ice on Chautauqua Lake only once last week. Officers said Robert Bielawski, 39, was ice fishing on the night of Jan. 24 near East Terrace Avenue in Lakewood when he fell and was rescued by another fisherman. The next afternoon, police said, Bielawski returned to the same area with a friend, who went out onto the ice to retrieve some items Bielawski had left when he went through the ice. The friend fell through the ice for a moment but was tethered and quickly pulled out.
