Cuba woman given up to 3 years as repeat felon

A Cuba woman who stole more than $1,000 in merchandise from a Wal-Mart store was sentenced Monday in Cattaraugus County Court to serve up to three years in state prison.

Rachel L. Bellinger, 31, was sentenced by Judge Larry M. Himelein as a repeat felon to 1 1/2 to three years in prison for her conviction on fourth-degree grand larceny Jan. 17, 2006, at the store in the Town of Allegany.

In other cases:

* Joseph Bello, 24, of Ischua, was sentenced to six months in jail, five years' probation and restitution for his conviction on second-degree forgery Aug. 29 in the City of Olean for he forging and cashing another's check.
* Lisa D. Shaffner, 41, of Olean, was sentenced to five years' probation and time served in the county jail for her conviction on fifth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, crack cocaine, Nov. 8, 2005, in the City of Olean.
* Allison J. Fuller, 41, of Portville, was sentenced to five years' probation for her conviction on fourth-degree attempted criminal sale of a controlled substance, hydrocodone, Oct. 28, 2005, in Portville.
* Allan L. Roos, 46, of West Valley, was sentenced to five years' probation and 100 hours of community service and fined $3,000 for his conviction on driving while intoxicated last March 9 in the Town of Ashford.

District Attorney Edward M. Sharkey said that in several other cases, guilty pleas were entered and sentencings will be held in April.
Anthony J. Wilson, 25, of Olean, currently being held in the county jail, pleaded guilty to third-degree attempted criminal possession of a controlled substance, cocaine, Sept. 15 in the City of Olean.
Christopher M. O'Brien, 17, of Great Valley, now being held in the county jail, pleaded guilty to defacing a weapon in October in the City of Olean when he drilled a serial number off a handgun.
Jay A. Mansfield, 17, of Franklinville, pleaded guilty to first-degree attempted sexual abuse of a person under age 11 and to forcible touching of another for sexual gratification, both on April 1 in Farmersville.
