The InfoComm International, a professional audiovisual and information communications industries association, named Joseph Bocchiaro III director of the Performance Standards Program. Bocchiaro has more than 30 years of experience in the audiovisual industry and has recently taught AV Design courses in 13 countries.

The Buffalo Alliance for Education, a nonprofit organization devoted to enhancing and enriching student achievement, appointed Brian R. Biggie to its board of directors. Biggie is an associate at the law firm of Chelus, Herdzik, Speyer, Monte and Pajak.

Phillips Lytle reference librarian Laura Suttell was elected to the board of directors of the Association of Law Libraries of Upstate New York for a two-year term. ALLUNY is a chapter of the Association of Law Libraries, a national organization that promotes professional development among law libraries and provides educational opportunities to its members.

The Buffalo law firm of Cohen and Lombardo named Terrie Benson Murray an associate. Most recently, Benson Murray was managing attorney with the United Auto Workers Legal Services Plan. She has more than 25 years of legal experience. She is a graduate of Fredonia State College and the University at Buffalo School of Law.

Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center retained Level 3 Communications to establish a fiber-optic telecommunications network that delivers greatly improved speed and better security at a lower cost. The HIPAA compliant data network delivers diagnostic imaging results and other digitized medical information 13 times faster than the medical center's previous system.

North Forest Office Providers recently began construction of its second office building in the Stonegate Office Park, 8207 Main St. The first, at 8205 Main St., was completed in October and is nearing full occupancy.

The Waters of Dunkirk, a skilled nursing facility that specializes in subacute, clinical and rehabilitative care, named Medicor Associates of Chautauqua medical director for the 40-bed facility.



The New York Power Authority (NYPA) presented $25,000 to the Center For Joy's Connections Network Program. The funds are being used to assist this mentoring program with its efforts to promote self-sufficiency, education and job-readiness skills for young people in several Niagara Falls neighborhoods.
