VINELAND, Ont. -- A mother and her two children were bound during a home invasion Sunday evening in the Niagara Region town of Vineland.
Regional police said two men entered the home on Carolynn Court at about 8 p.m., then tied up the mother and her two children.
While one invader kept watch on the residents, the other retrieved a safe containing an undisclosed amount of personal items. Both men then fled.
Although the residents were shaken, police said, they were not injured during the incident.

ROYALTON -- Four people were injured early New Year's morning in an accident on Hartland Road here.
Niagara County sheriff's investigators said a pickup truck driven by Michael Stolzman was backing out of a driveway when it was hit by a northbound car driven by Jennifer Martino at about 12:30 a.m.
Stolzman, whose age and hometown were not available, and a passenger, whom sheriff's investigators did not identify, were trapped in the vehicle and had to be extracted by members of the Gasport and Hartland fire companies.
They were taken to area hospitals, as was Martino, whose age and hometown were not available, and her passenger, Gina Avino, whose age and hometown also were not available.
Sheriff's Office investigators said all four suffered "traumatic injuries, but none seem to be life-threatening at this time."
Stolzman was charged with driving while intoxicated and failure to yield the right of way.
