Teen neighbor suspected in break-in at home
NIAGARA FALLS -- A teenage neighbor was named as a suspect in an overnight burglary, one of two investigated by police on Sunday.
A 65th Street man told officers that someone had repeatedly entered his home in recent weeks. The most recent break-in occurred between 11 p.m. Saturday and 3 a.m. Sunday, when a basement window was broken to gain entry.
Stolen from the ransacked residence was a $50 gift card, police said. Evidence technicians recovered fingerprints from the scene and are continuing to investigate.
A lockbox containing $300 in cash and various personal effects was stolen during an overnight break-in at a 13th Street home, police said. That theft occurred between 5 p.m. Saturday and 10:30 a.m. Sunday.
