*Niagara junior Charron Fisher was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference men's basketball player of the week after scoring 49 points in his first two games of the season. Fisher had 26 points, one shy of his career high, in a win at Iona and chipped in 23 in a win at Central Michigan. He also averaged seven rebounds and shot 45.7 percent from the field as the Purple Eagles won both games.
*Niagara senior guard Shauna Ambrose was named MAAC women's basketball player of the week for the second time this season after scoring a career-high 34 points in NU's 80-70 win over Marshall. Ambrose poured in 23 points in the second half and canned a career-high six three-pointers in the game.
*The St. Bonaventure men's tennis doubles team of senior Alejandro Nery and sophomore Jonathan Luce (Maple Grove) is ranked 13th in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association/Fila Northeast region fall doubles rankings. In the fall season, Nery and Luce posted a record of 4-4, including a run to the round of 16 at the Wilson/ITA Northeast Regional Championships in Philadelphia.
