>Six sworn in to posts in county and towns
BATAVIA -- Six Genesee County and town officials were sworn in Thursday during an annual ceremony held for the first time in Batavia Town Hall.
Stephen M. Hawley, elected to his first full term as assemblyman representing the northern half of Genesee County, took the oath of office, as did County Judge and Surrogate Robert C. Noonan and new County Coroners Robert A. Yungfleish of Pembroke and Kristine L. Flanagan of Batavia.
Alexander Town Justice Edwyn C. Hise and Elba Town Justice E. Douglas King were also sworn in by new State Supreme Court Justice Frank Caruso and Genesee County Family Court Judge Eric R. Adams.
Unable to attend were Alexander Justice Merlin L. Kirch, an incumbent, and new Pembroke Town Board member Peter G. Sformo.
About 50 family members and friends attended the ceremony and reception, which was hosted by the Genesee County Women's Republican Club.
