Frank H. Wieszczecinski of Marilla, a retired electrician, died Monday in the Center for Hospice & Palliative Care, Cheektowaga, after a lengthy illness. He was 81.
Born in Cheektowaga, he graduated from Sloan High School. He served in the Army Air Forces as a tail gunner aboard B-17 bombers during World War II in Europe.
A licensed electrician, Mr. Wieszczecinski retired in 1991 from Conrail.
Mr. Wieszczecinski was a member of Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Elma and was past president of its Holy Name Society. A member of the Knights of Columbus, he was a third-degree knight of St. John Neumann Assembly 2463.
He was a member of Tri-Town Post 7795, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and a 31-year member of East Aurora Post 362, American Legion.
He was a member of the Marilla Volunteer Fire Company and a life member of the Marilla Fire Company Benevolent Association.
His wife of 53 years, Eleanor M. Kasprzyk Wieszczecinski, died in 2004.
Survivors include two daughters, Cheryl A. Caughel and Tamara M. Hoffman; two sons, Frank J. and Kevin M.; and a brother, David.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Friday in Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 7580 Clinton St., Elma.
