>Woman put on probation, fined for felony DWI

BELMONT -- A Franklinville woman was sentenced to five years on probation last week after pleading guilty to felony driving while intoxicated.

Allegany County Judge Thomas P. Brown also fined Jeanie M. McCarthy, 46, $1,000.
Assistant District Attorney Amanda Newton said McCarthy was arrested in Bolivar on June 17 and pleaded guilty Oct. 19.

>Man robbed at gunpoint near Elmwood and Amherst

An Elmwood Avenue man told Buffalo police he was mugged at gunpoint at 5:45 p.m. Sunday near his home.

The victim said a man in a black baseball cap, hooded sweat shirt and black pants approached him near the intersection of Elmwood and Amherst Street. The mugger pointed a gun at him and demanded money, the victim said.

The victim told police that he handed over between $60 and $100 in cash.
