Dopkins and Company, certified public accountants and consultants, named seven new partners at the firm's Amherst office. Joseph A. Heim leads a team of more than a dozen professionals at Dopkins ABL Consulting Services who monitor collateral for large commercial lenders in North America. He joined the firm in 1990 upon graduating from Canisius College. Ralph M. Jeswald, General Services, joined the firm two years ago with more than 20 years professional experience. Jeswald graduated from Fredonia State College and earned an MBA in professional accounting from Canisius College. Teresa M. Majors, Tax Advisory Group, joined the firm in 2003 after 19 years in the Buffalo and New York City offices of a national accounting firm. She obtained an MBA from the University at Buffalo with a concentration in accounting. Gerard T. Mazurkiewicz, Tax Advisory Group, joined the firm two years ago, after serving as partner in charge of the upstate New York and Albany tax practices at a national accounting firm where he worked for more than 30 years. He graduated from UB. Bart F. McGloin, General Services, joined the firm in 1988 shortly after graduating from D'Youville College. Gerald F. Reger, General Services, joined the firm 20 years ago after several years of working in other local public accounting firms. He is a graduate of UB. John A. Vitello, Tax Advisory Group, joined the firm in 1995 with 15 years of tax experience with a national accounting firm and six years in private industry as a tax director and president of a privately held multistate corporation. Vitello is a graduate of Canisius College.

Watts Architecture and Engineering in Amherst named Laura A. Goodwin senior associate. Goodwin has 28 years of architectural experience on projects including historic preservation, education, parks and recreation, theater, business and retail. She is a University at Buffalo graduate.

The Health Association of Niagara County recently appointed April Estell program director at the Veterans Administration Child Learning Center, located on the grounds of the VA Medical Center. Estell, who brings 6 years of experience to this position, previously worked as a toddler teacher at the agency's Child Learning Center at Carolyn's House. She is a University at Buffalo graduate. Also, the agency appointed Seema Bhalla public relations manager. Bhalla previously worked at First Niagara Bank as a publicity coordinator. She is also a UB graduate. HANCI, established in 1927, promotes health, wellness and independence across generations through diversified programs and services.

Travers Collins and Company, a Buffalo-based marketing communications firm, named Sue Hough creative supervisor. Previously with Eric Mower and Associates, Hough has 12 years of experience. She is a Buffalo State College graduate. Also, the firm named Katie Cudek production designer. A graduate of the Fredonia State College, Cudek most recently worked at ASI-Modulex.
