Ida Bea Burrell of Buffalo, a retired nurse's aide, died unexpectedly Monday in St. Joseph Hospital, Cheektowaga. She was 60.
Born Ida Bea Jones in Tallulah, La., she graduated from high school there and moved to Buffalo in 1964. Later that year, she married Walter Burrell.
She worked in sales at AM&A's and Kaufmann's department stores and was a nurse's aide at Erie County Medical Center for 24 years.
Active in Pilgrim Baptist Church for more than 40 years, she served on the Usher Board and the Stage and Restoration Committee.
In addition to her husband, survivors include two sisters, Odessa Anderson and Edward Lee Dugano; and a brother, Johnnie Rogers.
Services will be at noon Wednesday in Pilgrim Baptist Church, 656 Michigan Ave., after a wake at 11.
