Losses pile up for Bonaventure

OLEAN -- St. Bonaventure's luck on the basketball court continues to be all bad as it lost its sixth in a row Wednesday night, 89-74, to Hampton (Va.) in the Reilly Center. It was Bona's final nonconference game at home.

Michael Lee led St. Bonaventure with 24 points. Zarryon Fereti contributed 15, Paul Williams scored 14 points and Tyler Relph added 12.

Rashad West scored 28 points to lead Hampton.

A 12-2 Hampton run gave the Pirates (3-8) a 32-23 lead in the first half, and they would not trail again. Hampton shot 33 for 57 (58 percent) from the field.

After scoring eight points in the first half, Hampton's leading scorer, Michael Freeman, sat out the second half after rolling his ankle.

St. Bonaventure fell to 3-7, including 1-5 at home.

In Big 4 men's action tonight, the University at Buffalo (7-4) hosts Delaware State (2-8) at 7 p.m. (Radio 1520 AM). UB is 13-1 in its last 14 nonconference home games.
