Myszka is appointed interim schools chief
Edward J. Myszka, assistant superintendent of the Lancaster School District, has been named interim superintendent, following the resignation of Thomas J. Markle, who has taken a job on Long Island.
The School Board unanimously appointed Myszka as interim superintendent at a meeting Tuesday night. While he serves as interim superintendent, he will receive a salary higher than what he makes as assistant superintendent, but less than Markle received. Myszka has told the board he plans to apply for the permanent superintendent position.
The board will discuss its plans for filling the vacancy in the business office during its Jan. 8 meeting.
