>Architect Brown named to Heritage Commission
Architect and preservation leader Clinton Brown has been appointed to the Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor Commission.
Brown is the president of Clinton Brown Co. Architecture, which specializes in revitalizing heritage buildings and communities in Western New York. He is a founding member of Canal NY, a private sector marketing and business organization; is a former president of the Landmark Society of the Niagara Frontier; and serves on two boards charged with directing the restoration and reuse of the H.H. Richardson Complex.
"Mr. Brown has earned a solid reputation for his commitment to the revitalization and enhancement of canal communities," Erie Canalway Commission Chairman Eric Mower said in a statement.
The citizen-based commission seeks to integrate economic development, recreational and educational opportunities and civic vitality with preservation of the Erie Canal's past.
