>Felony DWI brings term of one to three years

LITTLE VALLEY -- A Hinsdale man was ordered Monday to spend the next one to three years in state prison on his Oct. 16 guilty plea to felony drunken driving.

Paul A. Love, 47, was sentenced by Cattaraugus County Judge Larry Himelein.

District Attorney Edward M. Sharkey said Love has been jailed since he was extradited from Marietta, Ga., on Oct. 13, two months after he skipped court proceedings here in the DWI case. Love was accused of driving drunk on Route 16 in Franklinville on Feb. 3.

Himelein also fined Love $2,000 and ordered him to pay the district attorney's office $1,163 for the cost of extraditing him from Georgia two months ago.


>Woman charged with firing BB gun at husband

RANDOLPH -- A Randolph woman was charged Sunday after allegedly shooting at her husband with a BB gun and damaging his truck, Cattaraugus County sheriff's deputies reported.

Rebecca L. Wood, 53, of Chubb Road, faces charges of criminal mischief, menacing and criminal tampering.

Wood allegedly shot at her husband with the BB gun during a domestic dispute, smashing the windshield of his truck, breaking the side-view mirror of the truck and a window in their shed. She also allegedly let the air out of the tires of his truck.

Wood was arraigned and sent to the Cattaraugus County Jail in lieu of $500 bail pending an appearance in the Randolph Town Court.


>Pickup truck hits house; driver charged with DWI

JAMESTOWN -- A Jamestown man was charged with felony driving while intoxicated after a pickup truck he was driving hit a house on West Seventh Street late Sunday, Jamestown police reported.

Bruce Miller, 35, was allegedly traveling at a high rate of speed shortly after 10 p.m. when his truck jumped a curb, went across a sidewalk, through a yard and hit a house at 503 W. Seventh St.

The truck was demolished, and the house sustained extensive damage to the foundation and its wooden structure.

Besides felony DWI, Miller was charged with speeding, failure to keep right and not wearing a seat belt. A passenger, 33-year-old Danny Michael, of Jamestown, was charged with not wearing a seat belt.

Both were taken to WCA Hospital for treatment of injuries, which were not believed to be life-threatening.


>Two sought in Ellicott on county wanted list

MAYVILLE -- The Ellicott Police Department has an interest in both of the latest additions to Chautauqua County's Wanted List.

Lisa Haight, 27, of South Main Street, Jamestown, is wanted in Ellicott on a charge of driving while intoxicated.

Loren Carson, 36, of East Seventh Street, Jamestown, is also wanted on a DWI charge in Ellicott.
