Joseph E. Zakrzewski of Buffalo, a welder and a World War II veteran, died Sunday in Buffalo General Hospital. He was 80.
The Buffalo native was a sergeant in the Army during World War II.
He worked at Chevrolet's Tonawanda Engine Plant as a welder.
Mr. Zakrzewski was commander of Post 1016, American Legion, and a member of Joseph Hriczko Post, Veterans of Foreign Wars.
His wife, Florence Piwowar Zakrzewski, died in 1985.
He is survived by a daughter, Carol Seguin, and a son, Paul.
Prayers will be said at 9 a.m. Wednesday in Pacer Funeral Home, 1949 Clinton St., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 in Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 199 Clark St.
