A memorial Mass for William J. Heitzhaus, owner and operator of a convenience store in North Java, will be offered at 10 a.m. Dec. 30 in St. Mary Catholic Church, Route 78, Strykersville. A luncheon will follow in Strykersville Fire Hall.
Mr. Heitzhaus, who was born in Buffalo, died Dec. 5 in Florida Hospital, Orlando. He was 73.
He was a plasterer employed by Hudson & Mader Plastering Corp. and owned W.J. Heitzhaus Construction Co., a residential and commercial construction company.
Mr. Heitzhaus and his wife, the former Marjorie Propster, also owned and operated a tool rental, a John Deere dealership and an equipment rental business in East Aurora.
After his retirement in 1989, he and his wife traveled extensively throughout the United States, including Alaska, as well as several European countries.
He was a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks in Lancaster, the Family Motor Coach Association and the Good Sam Club.
Survivors, besides his wife of 52 years, include a daughter, Darlene Hilkert; a son, David; a sister, Judith Brady; and four brothers, Douglas, James, Michael and his twin, Robert.
