Ira McBurrows Sr., retired cab company owner, died Wednesday in his Buffalo home. He was 67.
Born in Moore Haven, Fla., Mr. McBurrows graduated from Fort Myers (Fla.) High School.
In 1960, he started McBurrows Transportation Corp., which eventually grew to a fleet of taxicabs. He retired in 1986.
An active community volunteer, Mr. McBurrows had received several awards for his service.
Survivors include his wife of 12 years, the former Maxine Harris; five daughters, Lyndell, Cynthia, Malika, Tosha and Santana; three stepdaughters, Felnisha Harris, Subrena Harris and Ebony Harris; and four sons, Ira, Terrence, Marshawn and Anthony.
A funeral service will be held at noon Tuesday in Holy Temple Church of God in Christ, 572 Clinton St., with a wake at 11.
