Elizabeth "Betty" Matchak, a longtime City Hall employee, died Dec. 7 in her Niagara Falls home. She was 54.
Born in Niagara Falls, she attended local schools and graduated from Madonna High School. She also attended Niagara County Community College.
She worked for many years at Niagara Falls City Hall in the office of the corporation counsel.
She also was a waitress at the Best Western Inn on the River and the Hampton Inn for several years and most recently was employed by the Seneca Niagara Casino, where she was a clerk in Morrie's Place restaurant.
She was a member and volunteer at the Echo Society and the Portage Post 1465 Ladies Auxiliary, American Legion.
She is survived by a special friend, Barbara A. Young.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 1419 Falls St.
