Albert V. Covatto, Titanium Corp. retiree March 28, 1916 -- Dec. 15, 2006

NIAGARA FALLS -- Albert V. Covatto, a retired employee of Titanium Corp., died Friday in Mount St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston. He was 90.

He was born in Freedom, Pa., and moved to Niagara Falls with his family in 1921. He graduated from Niagara Falls High School and Niagara County Community College.

He was a clerk at the Titanium Corp. for more than 40 years and had served as a union steward. Mr. Covatto enjoyed gardening, cooking and coaching youth sports.

He was an usher at St. Teresa's Catholic Church. He also was active with the Niagara and DeVeaux beautification commissions and the North End reunions.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, the former Angeline J. Fideli; and three daughters, Barbara Krul, Janet Nevill and Janice.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Teresa Church, College and Macklem avenues, Niagara Falls.
