Patricia A. Ziemba, longtime volunteer Sept. 25, 1936 -- Dec. 12, 2006

A Mass of Christian Burial for Patricia A. Ziemba will be offered at 9:30 a.m. today in St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 450 Abbott Road.

Mrs. Ziemba died Tuesday in Mercy Hospital after a brief illness. She was 70.

She was a volunteer in the Mercy Hospital gift shop for 10 years and for Meals on Wheels for five years. She was a religious education teacher for 30 years.

Born Patricia Carpenter in Buffalo, she received several awards for her volunteer work. She also organized trips for the Sunshine Club with the hospital's volunteer group. She taught religious education first at St. Stephen's Church and then at St. Thomas Aquinas.

She was the widow of Stanley Ziemba.

Survivors include two daughters, Cynthia A. Campbell and Susan Anderson; two sons, Anthony J. and Joseph; and a brother, Raymond Carpenter.
