Severn Trent Laboratories presented Candace Fox its Outstanding Client Service Award for September in recognition of her exceptional level of customer service. She is a project manager at the Buffalo laboratory.

The law firm of Viola, Cummings and Lindsay named Michael Skoney partner. Skoney, with more than 20 years of experience representing personal injury clients, previously was with the law firm of Lewis and Lewis in Buffalo. He is a graduate of the University at Buffalo School of Law.

The Western New York/Buffalo Chapter of The American Institute of Architects presented Patrick Mahoney with its 2006 Community Service Award. Mahoney is an associate for the firm of Lauer-Manguso and Associates Architects of Amherst as a project manager specializing in commercial and hospitality architectural projects.

The Waters of Dunkirk, a skilled nursing facility that specializes in subacute, clinical and rehabilitative care, named Rachel A. Jaffray director of Social Services. A graduate from the University at Fredonia, Jaffray previously held a similar position at the Waters of Salamanca.

GEMKO Information Group, an IBM business solutions consulting firm, contracted Williamsville-based steel supply manufacturer Affival Inc. to provide custom development and programming services for its enterprise software suite focused on streamlining manufacturing, inventory control, financials and customer service applications.
