Just Asking / Three questions for Robert Royal

Q: How is the rebuilding process going in your hometown of New Orleans in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina?

A: The last time I went, it wasn't bad. The side I lived on, which is the West Bank, was in a lot better shape because we didn't have to deal with a lot of homes that were underwater. But you still have people that live in Uptown that it's going to be awhile before things return to normal.

Q: Did your home have any water damage?

A: It was fine. The only thing we had was wind damage and the people without power had to do things to survive.

Q: Do you think the city will ever return to its pre-Katrina days?

A: I hope so. I hope what they do is make it better than it was before. I don't want to see New Orleans lose its culture, which is based on music, foods and different ethnicities.
