>Belmont man sentenced to jail in assault case

BELMONT -- A Belmont man was sentenced Monday to six months in Allegany County Jail after pleading guilty to a reduced charge of second-degree attempted assault.

Steven Passalacqua, 23, also was placed on five years of probation. He entered his plea on Oct. 19 before Judge Thomas P. Brown.

Passalacqua hit his victim with a weapon in Belmont last May, Assistant District Attorney Amanda Newton said.
Damage was estimated ay $4,000, police added.
