Ora Dixon, a retired Freezer Queen worker, died unexpectedly Saturday in her Buffalo home. She would have been 71 this week.
Born in Cedarbluff, Ala., Ms. Dixon had resided in Buffalo since age 17. From 1972 until retiring in 1993, she was a general laborer at Freezer Queen.
She was deeply religious. She enjoyed watching television, doing crossword puzzles and collecting potential accessories of expected value, and was an avid cardplayer.
Surviving are a son, Michael; two sisters, Cathryn Davis and LeeAnn Tyree; and a brother, James.
A memorial service will be at 6 p.m. Friday in Thomas Edwards Funeral Home, 995 Genesee St.
