>High-speed chase, DWI result in prison time
LITTLE VALLEY -- Brandon Cooper, 31, of Perrysburg, was sentenced Monday in Cattaraugus County Court to concurrent one- to three-year terms in prison for felony DWI and felony aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle and another six months for reckless endangerment, all stemming from a high-speed chase involving State Police.
District Attorney Edward M. Sharkey said the incident occurred November 26, 2005, on various roads in the Town of Perrysburg when Cooper operated a motor vehicle while he had a .17 percent blood-alcohol content.
Sharkey said Cooper led New York State troopers on a high-speed pursuit through two counties before finally being stopped. When his vehicle ran off the road at a T-intersection, troopers blocked the vehicle's possible escape routes. Cooper put his vehicle in reverse and backed into the side of a patrol vehicle as a trooper was getting out of it. The trooper was not injured.
