Earl F. Harden, a retired Grief Brothers official and former owner of Ransomville Speedway, died Sunday at home, surrounded by family while under care of Niagara Hospice. He was 77.
The Somerset native was a graduate of Youngstown High School.
Mr. Harden was employed at Grief Brothers, Niagara Falls, where he began as a laborer. He retired as industrial plant superintendent in 1995 after 43 years of service.
A stock car racing enthusiast, he was one of the original owners of Ransomville Speedway.
Survivors include his wife of 31 years, the former Eunice M. Robertson; four sons, Wayne E., Rodney, Rick and Leonard; and two daughters, Cheryl Hina and Joy E. Taczak.
A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Friday in Bible Presbyterian Church of Grand Island, 1650 Love Road.
