>Check of bars turns up parolees, probationers
JAMESTOWN -- Several convicted felons will be hearing from their parole or probation officers soon, after having been seen by police officers in area bars.
Twenty-two establishments were checked by local police, state troopers, Chautauqua County sheriff's deputies and parole and probation officers Friday night. Officers also checked the homes of several parolees and probationers for violations of curfew and other restrictions ordered by the courts.
Several violators were identified, according to police, and they will be contacted by the Chautauqua County Probation Department.
