>Four people being aided after Fox Avenue fire

TOWN OF NIAGARA -- The Red Cross found shelter for an adult and three children Sunday evening after a fire caused $25,000 damage to their home.

The Niagara Active Fire Company responded at 5:34 p.m. to a report that smoke was coming from the crawl space of a house at 4721 Fox Ave. Lewiston No. 2 Fire Company also responded, and the fire was brought under control by 6:31 p.m. The cause of the fire is under investigation.


>Woman's rape claim probed by Falls police

NIAGARA FALLS -- Police are investigating a woman's claim that she was raped last week while on a crack cocaine binge.

Th 42-year-old Niagara Falls city resident told police Saturday that she had been sexually assaulted and possibly raped several days earlier, after smoking crack with a man in a 16th Street apartment.
