Elizabeth M. Eberl of Amherst, a clerical assistant and school volunteer, died Wednesday in Sisters Hospital after a brief illness. She was 88.
Born Elizabeth Neukirchen in Buffalo, she was a graduate of Nardin Academy and attended D'Youville College. She worked at Curtiss-Wright Corp. during World War II.
She was a clerical senior aide at Senior Supportive Services for many years, retiring in March. Previously, she was a volunteer at Canisius High School and Nardin Academy.
She was parish secretary at Christ the King Catholic Church and a volunteer at St. Gregory the Great Perpetual Adoration.
Her husband of 17 years, Edward, died in 1961.
Surviving are two daughters, Anne E. Martin and Mary E., and a son, Edward G.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 a.m. today in St. Gregory the Great Church, 200 St. Gregory Court, Amherst, after prayers at 8:45 in Amigone Funeral Home, 5200 Sheridan Drive, Amherst.
