Legislators may create panel to update plan

MAYVILLE -- The Chautauqua County Legislature will vote next week on forming a task force to consider updating the county's 28-year-old Comprehensive Plan.

The Planning and Economic Development Committee has approved establishing a five-member panel that would develop a strategy to get the plan ready. It will deal with economic development and zoning issues.

Legislator Maria Kindberg, D-Jamestown, committee chairwoman, said the panel also will look into the cost of updating the document.

Kindberg said the group should make recommendations to the Legislature by the end of April.
