Jeanne "Midge" Hearn Pettys, a longtime Buffalo News distributor, died Saturday in her home in West Seneca after an unexpected illness. She was 72.
Mrs. Pettys, a Buffalo native, was a graduate of Mount Mercy Academy and a member of the school's alumni association.
She later worked as a News distributor, a job she held for more than 30 years until her retirement two years ago. An avid craftswoman, she enjoyed sewing and quilting.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Howard; six daughters, Anne Danowski, Susan Pash, Margie Brandquist, Denise Hillery, Maureen Herlan and Mary; four sons, Joseph, James, Michael and Patrick; as well as brothers and a sister.
A Mass of Christian Burial was offered Tuesday in Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, West Seneca.
