Leonard T. Aronica, of Orchard Park, died Monday in Buffalo General Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was 78.
Born in Buffalo, he graduated from Hutchinson-Central High School. After serving in the Navy during World War II, Mr. Aronica worked at the SPCA until the early 1960s, then owned and operated a parking lot on Pearl Street until the early 1970s. He then worked for Bethlehem Steel Corp., retiring in 1981.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, the former Angela J. Mazzi; two daughters, Diane Fornal and Patricia Wheelock; three sons, Charles, Joseph and Philip; and a sister, Ida D'Amico.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at noon Friday in Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church, South Buffalo Street and Thorn Avenue, Orchard Park.
