Santina Costanzo Nov. 15, 1916 -- Oct. 18, 2006

Santina "Sadie" Costanzo, formerly an active member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, died Wednesday in Tuscany House, a hospice in Summerfield, Fla., after a brief illness. She was 89 and had moved to Florida two years ago.

Born Santina LaRosa in Niagara Falls, she graduated from Niagara Falls High School.

She worked as a sales clerk at Sears, Roebuck & Co. here and retired in 1981.

Mrs. Costanzo helped form the Mothers' Club at Out Lady of Mount Carmel School and was a member of the Bishop's Committee at the parish.

She enjoyed cross-stitching and produced many cross-stitched Christmas ornaments for St. Jude Shrine. She also enjoyed reading and cooking.

Her husband of 66 years, Salvatore J., died July 10, 2004.

Survivors include two sons, John J. and Salvatore Jr., and a sister, Catherine Certo.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1413 Pine Ave.
