Buffalo

The Common Council will hold a public hearing at 6 p.m. Thursday on a plan to sell a portion of Fulton Street to Seneca Gaming Corp. to accommodate a downtown casino. The hearing will be held in Council Chambers on the 13th floor of City Hall.

Also this week:

The city's three-day property foreclosure auction begins at 9:30 a.m Monday in the Convention Center.

The Board of Education will meet at 5:30 p.m. Monday in Room 801 at City Hall.

Cheektowaga

The Maryvale School Board will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday in the Samuel R. Bennett Administration Building, 1050 Maryvale Drive.

Also this week:

The Cheektowaga Central School Board will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the board room in the high school, 3600 Union Road.

The Cleveland Hill School Board will conduct a meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the faculty cafeteria, 105 Mapleview Road.

The Town Board will hold a work session at 6 p.m. Wednesday in Town Hall, 1600 Bowen Road.

Erie County

The Erie County Legislature will hold budget hearings Monday through Wednesday in the Legislature's chambers, fourth floor, 92 Franklin St. The hearings Monday include the Board of Elections at 9 a.m.; district attorney, 10 a.m.; comptroller, 11 a.m.; county clerk, 1 p.m.; county executive, 2 p.m.; and county attorney, 2:30 p.m.

Also this week:

The Legislature will resume budget hearings Tuesday, including the county Budget Office at 9 a.m.; Personnel, 9:30 a.m.; Information Services, 10 a.m.; Environment and Planning, 11 a.m.; Labor Relations, 11:30 a.m.; Office of Public Advocacy, noon; Probation, 1 p.m; Parks and Recreation, 2 p.m; Cornell Cooperative Extension, 3 p.m.; and Soil and Conservation Districts, 3:30 p.m.

The Legislature will continue budget hearings Wednesday, including the Convention and Visitors Bureau at 1 p.m; Arts Council, 1:30 p.m.; and other arts and cultural groups, 2 p.m.

The Legislature will hold its regular session at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Legislature Chambers, fourth floor, 92 Franklin St.

The Legislature will resume budget hearings Friday, including the library system at 9 a.m.; sheriff, 10 a.m. and Central Police Services, 11 a.m.

The Town Board will hold a work session at 6 p.m. Monday in Town Hall, 6100 South Park Ave. At 6:30 p.m. Monday, it will conduct a public information session on the proposed 2007 budget in the Senior Center, 4150 Soles Road.

The Village Board will hold a regular meeting at 7 p.m. Monday in Village Hall, 100 Main St., following a 5:30 p.m. work session.

The Frontier Central School District Board of Education will hold a regular meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Middle School, 2751 Amsdell Road.

The School Board will hold a regular meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Middle School, 500 Martin Road. The board also will hold a work session at 6 p.m. Monday in McKinley Elementary School, 245 South Shore Blvd.

The Town Board will hold a special meeting on awarding a storm cleanup contract at 5 p.m. Monday in Council Chambers, 2919 Delaware Ave., Kenmore.
