Hodgson Russ attorney Catherine Grantier Cooley was appointed to the New York Bar Association's Committee on the New York Civil Practice Law and Rules. The Committee on Civil Practice Law and Rules monitors current law and proposed amendments to New York's code of civil practice and associated court rules. The committee also observes current legal practice in order to give voice to matters that are of concern to the bar, issuing a report on most legislative proposals.

Arxcel, a national prescription benefit management consultancy with an office in Williamsville, promoted Anne Shaw to senior account manager. Previously a client executive for Niagara Insurance Group, a Brown and Brown company, Shaw joined the company in 2004 as an account manager.

The American Lighting Association honored Dean Gottesman with a 2006 Pillar of the Industry award in recognition of his extraordinary service in advancing the lighting industry as well as the association, its programs and mission. Gottesman is president of Royalite Lighting and Lighting For Less.

The accounting firm of Freed Maxick and Battaglia was recognized on the list of America's Top 100 Largest Public Accounting Firms by the independent industry newsletter Public Accounting Report. The firm was ranked 96th on the list and reported a 9.5 percent increase in revenue from the previous year.

Dresser-Rand Co., Painted Post, was awarded a $414,468 contract for the repair and modification of turbine rotors by the U.S. Naval Inventory Control Point, Mechanicsburg, Pa.; MRC Bearings, Jamestown, was awarded a $37,100 contract to refurbish shaft bearings by the U.S. Naval Surface Warfare Center, Naval Base Philadelphia, Pa.; and ENSIL International Corp., Lewiston, was awarded a $1.39 million contract for professional, administrative, and management support services by the U.S. Air Force Materiel Command's Ogden Air Logistics Center, Hill Air Force Base, Utah.

RealtyUSA has begun distributing more than 80,000 vibrant orange Pumpkin Patch stickers to their area offices. An annual Halloween tradition, the removable Pumpkin Patch stickers are distributed through RealtyUSA offices, agents and area open houses to help enhance the visibility of children on Halloween night.

The law firm of Goldberg Segalla recently opened its eighth office at 301 Carnegie Center Drive, Suite 101, in Princeton, N.J.. The firm's partner David Osterman will head the new location. He was at McCarter & English for 18 years, and for the past five years was chairman of the firm's Products Liability Practice Group.

Cenergy Communications of East Aurora was named agency of record for Aussie Vineyards. The agency will handle all brand activation efforts for the Queensland, Australia-based company, including brand identity, packaging, promotions, advertising, and event marketing. Cenergy will also support the wine producer's sponsorship of Team Australia's #20 Craftsman truck in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in North America, the first Australian-sponsored team. Aussie Vineyards will introduce two brands, Au and Au Element 79, in the next six months.
