Edward George Connor, a Republic Steel retiree and veteran of the Korean War, died Wednesday in his Buffalo home after a long illness. He was 73.
Born in Auburn, Mr. Connor was a graduate of Bennett High School and an Army veteran of the Korean War, serving as a Military Police corporal.
In the 1980s, Mr. Connor retired as a boilermaker for Republic Steel, where he worked for 32 years.
His wife of 38 years, the former Anna Gianni, died in 2001.
Survivors include two sons, Carl Velleri and Salvatore Velleri; a daughter, Deborah Clarkson; and a sister, Rita Phillips.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Sunday in Hopper's Rush Inn, 2104 Seneca St.
