Mary Brennan, a retired medical secretary, died Wednesday in her West Seneca home after a long illness. She was 73.
She was born Mary Sheehan in Limerick, Ireland, where she attended local schools. She came to the United States in the 1950s and later became a U.S. citizen. She also attended Villa Maria College.
She worked as a secretary in radiology at Mercy Hospital and Mercy Ambulatory Care, taking early retirement due to illness.
An avid reader, she was known for her wit and storytelling.
Survivors include two sons, Patrick of Illinois and James of Orchard Park; three sisters and a brother, all of Ireland; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 450 Abbott Road. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Lackawanna. A memorial Mass will be offered at a later date in Limerick.
