Jeanette Stevens, medical technologist Jan. 27, 1953 -- March 30, 2006

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered for Jeanette Stevens, a retired nuclear medicine technologist, at 9:30 a.m. Monday in St. Christopher's Catholic Church, 2660 Niagara Falls Blvd., Town of Tonawanda. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda.

She died Thursday in Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital, Amherst, after a long illness. She was 53.

Born in Buffalo, she was a graduate of Erie Community College and the University at Buffalo.

She worked at Roswell Park Cancer Institute as a medical laboratory technician for 10 years and at Veterans Affairs Medical Center as a nuclear medicine technologist for almost 25 years.

Ms. Stevens was a member of Chapter 48 of Mended Hearts, a support group for those who have had open-heart surgery, and was president for four terms.

She also was a Eucharistic minister at St. Christopher's Church, visiting the parish's shut-ins.

Survivors include four sisters, Ann of Birmingham, Ala., Renee of the Town of Tonawanda, Margaret Cortright of Grand Island and Norah Crawford of Amherst.
