Cinderella's dream continues

George Mason vs. Florida

George Mason has beaten elite teams from the Big Ten (Michigan State), ACC (North Carolina) and Big East (Connecticut). Maybe if it takes down an SEC power, people will start to take it seriously. Florida has the best athletes. But the Patriots have all the elements of a Final Four team. They're quick, they have two reliable post players, they shoot well from outside, they're solid defensively and they're unfazed by pressure. They're no fluke. They're a legitimate national title threat.

Pick: George Mason 76, Florida 74.

LSU vs. UCLA

You must admit, there's a lot to be said for a championship game that would pit LSU's Glen "Big Baby" Davis against George Mason's Jai Lewis. That's 585 pounds of big man battling in the low post. The sport might not survive another ghastly offensive show like UCLA-Memphis in the regional final. UCLA simply doesn't have the weapons to counteract LSU's shot blockers. It's too bad Gonzaga brainlocked in the regional semifinals. That might have cost us a chance to have two mid-majors in the Final Four.

Pick: LSU 68, UCLA 58
